50. Bahnhofstrasse * Usteristrasse

The one in front of Globus,  almost at the end of Bahnhofstrasse. A few meters from it, you can also find another Zurich landmark: the Apple store.

This fountain was brought from Paris, where is known as the Wallace Fountain, to celebrate the 1982 Water Supply Association Congress that took place in Zurich.  It was meant to symbolize the international co-operation in providing people everywhere with pure and salubrious water.  The four caryatids represent Kindness, Simplicity, Charity and Sobriety (if you look closely, you will see they are all different. Their arms and legs bend differently and each tunic is customized).
