12. Hauptbanhnof underground shopping center

An underground fountain: it is in one of the entrances of the ShopVille RailCity, the underground shopping mall that provides support to the travelers arriving in Zurich’s Hauptbanhnof [main station].  It would be yet another railway station shopping center, if it wasn’t the biggest commercial space downtown Zurich open on Sundays (and after 20h00, for that matters. Travelers seem to be very needy in this part of the world).

Judging by the lack of finesse of the signage, it seems likely the creator of this fountain was expecting to people to be a bit more civilized and not attempt to to drink, play or bath in the fountain. One thing is clear: this is a kein Trinkwasser fountain.

  1. Hi!
It’s always funny when we find someone like us! I’m also a “fountain lover” and, just like you, I also collect pictures of fountains, all over the world! Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit (again) your country and, since then, I’ve been posting all the fountains I found there. You are really lucky! In Portugal, we also have some fountains but not so many as you have… Well, your blog came across my life when I was searching for information about one of Zurich’s fountain. Congratulations fo it! It’s really fantastic! Feel invited to visit my blog! Maybe, someday, I’ll make an English version of it… 😉
